Before I present to you those 10 advantages it is crucial to understand that

Ballroom dancing began into the 18th century and becomes more popular with every day.

Every day, thousands of people participate in ballroom dances -all over the world. Dancers vary in age between 3 and 4 years young students at schools such as World DanceSport Cebu to 99 year old Tao Porchon Lynch who danced at an event in Mumbai in the year 2017.

Ballroom dancing in 2014 was already a 2.1 BILLION dollar industry. And with the popularization of shows like Dancing WithThe Stars, that is growing exponentially every day.

If you’ve ever had a desire to dance in a ballroom (and you know you do) however you have believed that I’m not capable of doing it or that I’d look silly, or there would be no one who would be a part of my dance. I am here to tell you that those beliefs are not the truth.

The ballroom dancing community is one of warmth and support. We are here to encourage and encourage you.

If you’ve been dancing for some time then you’ll be aware that a night without dancing is like a day with no sunshine.

These are the top ten advantages that come with getting out dancing in the ballroom.

#1: Builds Your Confidence

Most of us have seen our teachers or parents instruct us to “Sit up” or “hold your head up”.

The art of Ballroom dancing helps you to not only dance skills, but also builds your confidence both on the dance floor and off the dance floor. Learn how to dance by ensuring that your head is up and straight, your back straight, your arms at the right level and your rib cage held exactly to your liking.

It makes you appear taller and you feel lighter which makes you feel good. Simply feeling confident about yourself can lead to a new you.

You’ll be gliding across the floor, feeling high above the world and you’re not able to fall down. This sensation will be felt even while walking down the street.

Children love it when they feel taller and like they could fly. They are also veracious learners, and are able to build their confidence faster than adults. They are not scared to make mistakes and will not tire of repeating a dance step repeatedly to be sure they are doing it correctly.

My dance instructor often states, “My friends keep telling me to relax, but I tell them, I am relaxed, I just have good posture”.

This is confidence!

#2: Leading Your Partner

As well as keeping their frame in place, men learn how to lead, and learn how to get women to dance. The men will tell you that it’s not something that is easy to master (no pun intended i) not just do they have to master the dance steps, listen to the beats of the music, but they also have to decide where they want to go and guide the dance partner that follows them around. If they can master the art of leading their dance partners they will reveal that they are able to lead their spouses and love it! their children and colleagues!

And, Following Your Partner

My instructor will tell you that women who are independent are difficult to teach about following. I’ve experienced this for myself because I am one them. Ladies must be taught to follow their partners even if the partner is making mistakes. In dancing you learn how to depend on your partner and listen to your partner. Only in dancing you do not only use your ears to listen to the music, you listen with your whole body. If you are not able to trust and allow your partner to lead you and follow their instructions, a mistake can occur. If this does you will discover yourself falling into the ground, taking your partner along with you.

#3: Improves Physical and Mental Health

Social dancing offers the body with a variety of advantages for health and fitness and ballroom dancing is no different. Dancing is excising your body and this reduces stress, increases energy, helps to tone your muscles, and improve flexibility and mobility.

Dancing requires precision to be able to follow the dance patterns and dance moves in motion and this aids your mind as well as your muscles in coordination and balance.
Being aware of the body language of your partner helps you stay focused and pay attention to every detail improving brain power and building it up.

#4: Expands Music Listening

We all grow in a world of music and we can all say I love the music. Dance classes teach an entirely different way of “listening to music” and I refer to it as”Music Listening Class “Music Listening Class”
If the Music begins, these are some of the questions a Ballroom dancer will have to answer:
1. What dance is that?
2. Which is the dance beat?
3. What’s the tempo?
4. What’s the best time to do it?
5. What is the rhythm
Each dance will have an answer that is specific to that dance as well as to your own dancing level.

#5 Invites Competition and Perforce Show Cases

Many Dance Studios allow their students to dance and compete. It gives their students motivation to learn more about their dance and advance to a new level. Some students they are aiming to compete and there are competitive circuits that are in place from beginner level to professional levels. Students can also exhibit showcases on topics they are interested in, or perform their preferred dances. In both instances, dances are choreographed based on dance guidelines for ballroom dancing.

In constant pursuit of improving your dancing, you create the mindset within your life where you will always be motivated to perform the best you can!

#6: Your friends and Family will be Interested and impressed

There is no doubt that people love getting noticed and it’s a great thing.

Many people are surprised, intrigued and impressed, -when you inform them that you are going to an instruction class to learn to dance especially when you’re a grown-up or are a grandmother, like me. Then, it is time to bring them along to one of your shows, they witness you glide across the floor! They’ll be asking “How do you do that? How do you know when to turn?” “I didn’t know it was possible to do lifts like dancing with Stars
