Sawadee Ka, Yindee tonrup su Ban Thai, (Hello and welcome to Ban Thai). Ban Thai, which means Thai House, first opened in April of 1993. We scouted through many cities all over Maryland before deciding on Baltimore. Because this area is known for its diversity, we believe that 340 North Charles Street was the best place to plant our roots and open our culture to you.
Although we are unable to put every dish on our menu, we have carefully selected varieties that would best represent our countries distinctive flavoring. However, there is no doubt nothing beets sitting by the Chao PraYa River feasting on Chicken Kraprow with a side of Tom Yum Talay while enjoying the view, observing the festivities of Thai Life.

However, we do try to keep to the original ingredients as we can since we lack the luxury of going to the open market for all the fresh herbs and spices that Thai dishes are famous for. We are proud to say that our chefs have been with Ban Thai since the very first day and we can confidently say that they will continue to help develop our Ban. This is why it is your first bite all over again every time. Our chef meticulously seasons and stirs each dish putting into it all of their accumulated experience in creating the wonderful flavoring for you to enjoy, from our home kitchen to your dinning table.
